We looked at race in one of our very first posts, and today I’d like to revisit the topic with fresh data. This article folds in millions of person-to-person interactions, what one human being thinks of another. As such, it’s different from a look at, say, unemployment numbers or test scores. So much data on race gives you people vs. the system. OkCupid’s gives you people vs. people . Basically, the site’s ten-year history has been one long episode of Judge Judy. Here’s the verdict on race.

The values in these tables are “preference vs. the average.” Think of them as how people weigh race in deciding attraction. So, for example, in the bottom-right corner of the lower table, you see that white women think white men are 17% more attractive than the average guy. Move one square to the left, and you see that they think Latinos are 1% above average, and so on.

With Free Online Dating sites, there's likely to be a higher percentage of scammers or people who don't want to leave a paper trail on the free sites like OKCupid and Plenty of Fish. However there can certainly be shady characters on free sites, too.

Also, we do have a success story from a doctor who met her match online on one of these free dating sites.

Bottom line - either free dating site is fine - look for the one that has the user interface you like best, more people in your area, or try both and see where you get a bite first (plenty of fish joke!)

Again and again a new matchmaking site makes itself known on the internet. So, it’s really a challenge to decide which one you want to stay apart of, when there’s such a massive amount of them to choose from. OkCupid. com is one of these matchmaking sites, which was made for the purpose of finding singles in your area (or not, if long distance doesn’t bother you.) First of all, the initial impact of the site wasn’t very spectacular. There wasn’t much that really stood out on the front page that could be considered very attractive and worth while. I like to see visual messages on sites like this, that can instantly draw someone in, and keep them interested long enough to sign up and try it out. This dating websitelacks in this section; with only a dozen profile picture previews, the initial navigation bar, some plain color choices, and the other typical things you’d expect to see on most front pages. Of course, just because there’s little content on the first page doesn’t instantly mean the site has no potential to be great. It actually takes further navigation to determine that.

www. okcupid. com doesn’t appear to be much on the outside, but after the quick sign up you’ll see that there’s much more than one may have initially thought. It’s true that the layout is a little bland, but for being 100% free, the content that’s available is definitely worth it, and very unique from other matchmaking sites. The site is growing everyday and it will grow even more, if you decide to take the short 60 seconds to sign up.
